About The Prompt Calendar
The Prompt Calendar is a free, hand-checked calendar of art and craft challenges, all in one place, so you can spend less time hunting for prompt lists and more time making things.
What you'll find here
- 47 challenges, from big ones like Inktober and Mermay to smaller community favorites.
- Dates and official prompt lists, linked straight from each organizer.
- A medium filter, so you can find drawing, ink, watercolor, painting, digital, fiber or craft challenges fast.
- A month-by-month calendar covering the next 12 months.
- A monthly "starting next month" newsletter, one friendly email before each month with what's coming up and what to prep.
Who's behind it
Hi, I'm Nicole! I'm a mom of three and a lifelong crafter in Mississippi. I've always loved jumping into art challenges, but I kept missing start dates or digging through old posts to find this year's prompts. So I built the calendar I wished existed.
How listings are checked
Every challenge is checked by hand before it goes on the calendar. We confirm the dates, prompt list and hashtag against the organizer's own page or official account, and each challenge page lists its sources and the date it was last checked (look for "Sources & last check"). Challenges change from year to year, so it's always a good idea to confirm on the organizer's page before you start. Spot something out of date? Let us know and we'll fix it.
Run a challenge?
Organizers can submit their challenge for free. Basic listings are always free. If you'd like extra visibility, you can also feature your challenge. Paid featured spots are always clearly labeled "Featured".
